MISSION OF THE CHINA REPRESENTATIVE OFFICE OF PETER THE GREAT ST-PETERSBURG POLITECHNIC UNIVERSITY

The mission of the University’s Representative Office in Shanghai is to represent and safeguard the interests of the University in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and other countries of the Asia-Pacific region; promote international cooperation in education, research and the public sphere; promote contacts and cooperation with Chinese and international scholars, experts, academic and research institutions, industrial enterprises and companies, governmental agencies and NGOs; provide international counterparts with up-to-date information regarding the University’s activities; compile and analyze information regarding cooperation opportunities with international partners and disseminate it via University communication channels; promote the University in this region as a place of innovation, creativity and international repute.

OBJECTIVES OF THE CHINA REPRESENTATIVE OFFICE

OVERALL OBJECTIVES

  • Represent and safeguard the interests of the University in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and other countries of the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Build international partnerships and networks to promote academic and research excellence as well as enhance the University’s international outreach and standing.
  • Support the University’s international outreach efforts by compiling, analyzing and disseminating information regarding international cooperation programs, fellowships, grants and other awards and funding opportunities in China and the region.
  • Stimulate the involvement of the various university units in the preparation and implementation of new international agreements, contracts and projects with international partners.
  • Provide organizational and informational support for academic and administrative staff, research teams, university units and small innovative enterprises in their efforts to build international partnerships and networks with international partners in China and the region.
  • On a regular basis, design and implement marketing campaigns to attract talented students, leading professors and experts, promote the University’s degree and training programs, build partnerships with high-tech companies, stimulate technology transfer and research commercialization as well as raise the profile of the University in China and the region.
  • Attract to the University notable international experts from China and the region as visiting scholars to contribute to the University’s teaching and research as well as to participate in conferences and seminars thus promoting teaching and research quality and helping raise the awareness about the achievements of foreign colleagues and cooperation opportunities.
  • Provide support for the preparation and implementation of working visits, meetings, round tables, seminars, presentations and other events in the premises of the Representative Office as well as using the facilities of partner organizations in China and the region.
  • Provide up-to-date information for the University web portal and website regarding the activities of the Representative Office, events, achievements and cooperation opportunities.
